Ay-yi-yi

I wonder, sometimes, where the world is off to.  In one of my classes today watched the film May 18th, about the violent supression/massacre of the student protests in Gwanju.  This was a particularly heavy film, not just in content, but because some of the students in our class are Korean.  Taking place in 1980, almost everyone can either remember this time or tell their parent's stories about this time.  The film was very well written and very moving, however we had a lot of my non-korean peers laughing during the film and making fun of the violence.  I guess people are immature no matter where you go (Thank God it's not just American students!), however it was really disappointing to me that the "way-gooks" had to display that side for the nationals to see.  Either way, it's a foreign film worth your time if you don't have the life span to remember that time, but it's probably also probably worth watching if you do.  /end rant/
